Empowering Communities through Sustainable Projects The Zmai Social Care Foundation, a nonprofit organization committed to empowering women and communities, was officially launched in Kasama under the theme "Empowering Communities through Sustainable Projects." The launch event attracted women from all walks of life, coming together in a unified pursuit of growth, self-reliance, and community transformation. Delivering the opening remarks, Zmai Kasama representative Mulenga Tema Tema described the launch as the beginning of a journey centered on resilience and sustainable development. He expressed optimism that the foundation would make a significant impact in the lives of women and the broader community. Zmai President Mrs. Chongo Charity reinforced the foundation's commitment, stating, “This empowerment is not just a concept, but a movement — a movement that equips individuals with skills, resources, and opportunities.” She emphasized that Zmai envisions a future where sustainable growth is achieved by unlocking the potential within every community member, be it through agriculture, entrepreneurship, or other impactful sectors. In line with its mission, Zmai showcased several machines that will be utilized to empower women in Kasama. These included equipment for peanut butter production, sachet water packaging, and chicken laying production, symbolizing the organization's practical approach to skill development and self-employment. The event was graced by Mr. Henry Kapesa, Principal Agricultural Officer, who represented the Northern Province Minister, Mr. Mbao. In his address, Mr. Kapesa congratulated Zmai on its official launch and applauded its vision, describing the foundation as “a beacon of hope, a force for change, and a pillar of empowerment” for the Northern Province and beyond.
