Following the successful conclusion of the Northern Province Talent Search, LONO TV sat down with Mr. Justin Chongo, founder of Chongo Talent Promotion, to reflect on the event and share future plans.

Mr. Chongo began by thanking the people of Kasama and the entire Northern Province for the unwavering support they have consistently shown toward his vision of discovering and promoting local talent. “Your support keeps the dream alive,” he said.

During the interview, LONO TV presenter Mr. Clerious JR challenged Mr. Chongo to reveal who he thought would win the competition. In response, Mr. Chongo diplomatically stated that everyone in the Top 5 deserved to win, noting that while some contestants were exceptional, a few broke the rules by performing songs belonging to other artists.

Looking ahead, Mr. Chongo shared a lineup of exciting upcoming events scheduled for later this year. These include an Entrepreneurship Workshop, the return of the much-anticipated Northern Youth Rise Up And Shine (NYRUS) initiative, and several other youth-driven programs aimed at empowering and showcasing talent in the region.

He also gave a sneak peek into the 2026 edition of the Northern Province Talent Search. According to Mr. Chongo, the next edition will be more expansive, moving district by district across the province in search of top talent, with the grand finale to be held in Kasama.

In closing, Mr. Chongo extended heartfelt gratitude to LONO TV, acknowledging the media house as “the longest-serving and most reliable partner” in the journey of nurturing talent. He praised LONO TV’s dedication, coverage, and consistency in promoting events that give hope and opportunity to young people in the region.
